In January 2017, 88% of manufacturers who completed the EmployerOne Survey indicated that they had separations - 72% of these were quits. The Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin is conducting a study to understand the reasons behind the high level of quits in the manufacturing sector and why businesses are having issues retaining employees. We are looking for manufacturers to help with this survey that is aimed at finding key strategies to support manufacturers with worker retention and attraction.
To gain a thorough understanding of the issue, the study will also be collecting feedback from both long-term employees and recently hired employees in the industry plus Employment Ontario clients who have recently quit manufacturing jobs. The feedback will be collected through surveys and focus groups.
Your feedback is valuable to the understanding and improvement of worker retention in the Manufacturing Sector. After the study is complete, we will be sharing the results with participants and industry stakeholders. The feedback you provide in this survey will be completely confidential. Please, feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if you would like to be involved further with this initiative.
Please, click here to take part in the survey. The estimated time to complete the survey is 7 minutes.
