Supporting the Non-Profit & Caring Sectors

One of the strategic priorities of the Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin (WPBWWD) for 2024-2025 is to support employers to attract and retain talent they want and need.

The Non-profit and Caring sectors support the larger workforce and are under incredible strain. Together we can fuel innovative ideas on how to attract, develop, and nurture talent and ensure the health of the sector from a workforce perspective!

We hosted two strategy sessions in the Fall of 2024 for people who hire or manage staff in these sectors:

  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • Childcare
  • Community Supports
  • Non-Profit

Prior to March 2025 we will release a report including:

  • Summary from our Fall 2024 strategy sessions on how to attract, retain and nurture staff in these sectors
  • Research of sector-related occupations:
    • composition
    • engagement
    • demand
