Supporting the Non-Profit & Caring Sectors

One of the strategic priorities of the Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin (WPBWWD) for 2024-2025 is to support employers to attract and retain talent they want and need.

The Non-profit and Caring sectors support the larger workforce and are under incredible strain. Together we can fuel innovative ideas on how to attract, develop, and nurture talent and ensure the health of the sector from a workforce perspective!

Here is the work we completed in 2024-2025:

We hosted two strategy sessions in the Fall of 2024 for people who hire or manage staff in these sectors:

  • Healthcare
  • Education & Childcare
  • Community Supports
  • Non-Profit

Our “What Next?” report summarizes their ideas for workforce:

  • and growth

We researched sector-related occupations for workforce data on composition, engagement, and demand:
