This Conestoga Career Centre course offers Internationally Educated Health Care Professionals an interactive classroom-based understanding of the Canadian health care system including the key concepts and principles of professional practice needed to work as a health care professional in Ontario.
Participants will engage in a variety of learning activities such as lectures, role-play, case studies and group discussions.
This course will focus on:
- The federal and provincial governments' involvement in health care
- Cultural competence, communications, patient centered practice and safety
- Ethics in health care
- Working with other health care professionals
- The importance of professionalism and lifelong learning
This course includes multiple sessions in consecutive weeks (Wednesday, July 25, August 1 and August 8). You are expected to attend all sessions in order to obtain a certificate of completion.
