The Path Forward: Our 2025 LLMP Update

The 2025 Local Labour Market Plan is out. To paraphrase our Executive Director, there is so much change coming to the workforce and workplaces in the next 5 years. We are hoping some will be short-lived, like tariffs, while others are going to change the way we work, like AI and its continual development. With this in mind, we think any solutions we are going to craft need strong foundational knowledge and The Path Forward is our attempt to give our community a strong sense of where we are.

This idea may not seem new as we suggested this same approach right as we were building out of the pandemic economic challenge. And our comparison years for a lot of the data in this report is looking at the 2020 economic challenge and how we have grown out of it. This perspective may prove helpful as we move forward. Where were our challenges? How did we grow 5 years later? Where we should focus our attention as we shift?
