The Position: The WIN initiative operates in Waterloo and is expanding into Guelph-Wellington. WIN supports local employers and professional immigrants to connect, build their future careers and diversify their workforces.
We are seeking candidates for the following positions:
Talent Liaison: who will work primarily with professional immigrant jobseekers in Waterloo Region.
Employer Liaisons (2): who will work with local employers in Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington.
All positions will also look for opportunities to leverage resources and capacity to build a better community.
Compensation: Positions are full-time contracts, contingent on funding renewal. The starting salary is $65,000 (funder negotiated), and work hours are 37.5 per week. These contracts will begin in April 2025 and end in March 2028.

The Company: The Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin (WPB) is the local labour market and workforce development specialist. The short version of what we do: We do research, analysis, and work with local leaders to target solutions to workforce and workplace challenges. Sometimes, we lead those solutions in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Talent Liaison: Support job seekers or career shifters from initial conversation to implementing their pathway forward to employment or re-training, knowledge of community support and referrals, sourcing new supports and programs.
- Employer Liaison: Address recruitment and retention challenges by partnering with employers to modify or develop barrier-free approaches and models. Additionally, identify and source resources to support employers in fostering equitable and sustainable workplace practices.
Both positions:
- Develop and execute project plans and deliverables, collect information to be used in funder reporting and be accountable for activities and budgets unique to each client group
- Develop, follow project procedures and processes and connect the 2 client groups.
- Organize events, workshops, and learning opportunities for respective client group.
Common Requirements for Both Positions:
- Communication skills: conduct presentations, attend events, develop promotional write-ups, facilitate workshops and conversations, interview skills, represent WIN
- Interpersonal/ Relationship building skills to engage clients and community partners: trustworthy, commit to your actions, resolve conflict, develop client-focused solutions, make community referrals for best fit solutions
- Comfort with technology, Canva. Nice to have: WordPress experience (will train)
- Teamwork skills: work with colleagues to continue developing WIN, communicate roles and goals, information share, and evaluate actions for success
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation as will travel to urban and rural parts of Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington (verify this in your application package)
Unique Requirements for Each Position:
Talent Liaison
- Post-secondary education/diploma in career development or related field.
- 3 years experience supporting jobseekers
Employer Liaison
- Post-secondary education in human resources, organizational psychology, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in human resources, recruitment, or management and are able to convey workforce solutions in a way that aligns with overall business strategy.
- Learning and Development experience with a proven ability to design and deliver training to business leaders would be an added advantage.
The Location: WPB is based in downtown Cambridge, Ontario. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid situation. Laptop will be supplied.
